Stoke City striker John Guidetti has revealed he could've been lost to parent club Manchester City.

The Swede admits he almost signed permanently for FC Twente in 2011.

"I had a contract signed with Twente, but Roberto Mancini intervened and asked the club:..'Where is John?'

"City said that they had let me leave, but Mancini said. 'No, no, what are you doing?'

"There were lawyers involved to keep me."
