Stoke City striker Peter Crouch is proud of his England career.
Crouch says it was a misunderstanding that prompted Roy Hodgson to say that he was not prepared to be included on a standby list for Euro 2012.
"I was part of the England squad for five years and I don't think I missed a squad," said Crouch.
"If I wasn't going to the Euros I didn't think there was much point in me going to the friendly. It wasn't a case of making myself unavailable, it was just a suggestion.
"Of course, playing for my country is the best thing I have ever done and it will remain to be so."
