Stoke City defender Robert Huth is confident Ryan Shawcross will build on his England cameo last week.
Huth believes his central defensive partner is a better player than he was able to show during his brief international debut away to Sweden last Wednesday.
Huth claimed Shawcross showed his character by keeping Andy Carroll quiet at West Ham United.
He told The Sentinel: "Ryan was outstanding.
"In the first half he made one great tackle and in the second he was the same as usual. So it was 15 minutes (for England) the other night, but for 90 he was outstanding for us.
"Compared to the England game, not many people will have seen the West Ham game to judge his real performance, but he was as good as any defender in the league."
