Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross is demanding better from his players after defeat to Wigan Athletic.

Shawcross says they must not settle for simply beating the drop.

He said: "I hope it's enough to stay up, but we want to do better than that.

"In the next couple of games we need wins to push us away from the bottom half of the table."
