Stoke City star Kevin Wimmer has insisted that he has nothing to prove to his former manager Mauricio Pochettino or to the Tottenham fans.
Wimmer made an impressive debut for Stoke City in the 2-2 draw against Manchester United during the weekend, following his £15million move to the Bet365 Stadium this summer and the defender has now stated that he has not set his mind on making a point to his former manager Mauricio Pochettino.
When asked if he has anything to prove to Tottenham, he said: "No, I don't think so. I had a very good conversation with him at the end and he was very happy for me about the move. It was very good that he also made it possible that I could join Stoke. Of course, with Mark Hughes, I have another good manager and I'm very happy to be here.
"I want to keep improving, but there's nothing to show to Mauricio because at Spurs, we had lots of good centre-backs and I was happy to be part of this team for two years. I think it was good for my improvement. I didn't play too much, but with this team, I kept on improving and I'm trying to show that now."
