Stoke City's new signing Moritz Bauer has revealed that Marko Arnautovic convinced him to sign for the Bet365 Stadium outfit.

City completed the signing of Bauer for a fee of around £5million recently and following the completion of the move, the defender has revealed that it was ex-Potters star Arnautovic who convinced him to join the club.

Bauer said: "I didn't know any of the coaches but I spoke a lot with Kevin Wimmer, with Shaq and with Marko Arnautovic also. They told me beautiful things about the club and it's all been confirmed since I've been here.

"Marko had only good things to say about Stoke, absolutely. I spoke with him in the national team so he suggested (the club to) me and had a lot of warm words about the club, the same as Kevin and Shaq."
