Stoke set to offload Davies to Middlesbrough

Stoke City defender Andrew Davies is expected to be offloaded to Middlesbrough in January.

The Sentinel says Davies is training with former club Middlesbrough, fuelling speculation about a free-transfer move in the January window.

Davies has started only one game for Stoke since signing from Southampton for £1.2m in August 2008.

He signed a four-year contract with City, but has been loaned out to Preston, Sheffield United and Walsall over the last two years.
