Stoke City are ready to offload Matthew Upson.
The Sentinel says Stoke wouldn't release Upson in January to join Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua, but they could reconsider in the close season now they have more time to rebuild.
Newly-promoted Southampton have been heavily linked with the defender, who started 19 games for City last season, but only 10 in the Premier League.
