No further action will be taken against Stoke City winger Jermaine Pennant following a recent nightclub incident.
The 29-year old was arrested after allegedly attacking a woman at a bar in Manchester before he was involved in a car accident later in the night.
Charges against Pennant regarding the alleged assault have been dropped but he will still have to appear in Trafford Magistrates' Court to answer the driving charges.
"Police received reports a woman was assaulted at a nightclub on Barton Arcade, Manchester, at approximately 3.30am on 29 April 2012.
"Police have cancelled the bail of a 29-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of section 47 assault.""No further action will be taken against a man arrested following an assault in Manchester," said a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson.
