Stoke's Martins-Indi happy biding his time on the bench

Stoke City defender Bruno Martins-Indi not getting agitated despite his lack of first team football this season.

Following a fine loan spell last season, Martins-Indi joined Stoke on a permanent basis over the summer but due to the presence of Kurt Zouma, the Dutchman has struggled for regular first team football this time around.

Nonetheless, Martins-Indi is not getting frustrated with the situation and expressed his confidence of eventually getting playing time by saying: "It's about patience. We have had a win and a couple of draws but my opportunity will come, 100 per cent.

"I've spoken to the manager, of course, and of course everybody wants to play. It's not just me, there are other guys on the bench who want to play, be competitive and show their strength.

"But finally it's up to the manager, he decides and he's responsible for the results. We need to take our responsibilities to give 100 per cent in training and 100 per cent on the pitch and off the pitch and for the fans. That's our responsibility. The guys who aren't playing can't control the decisions.

"I had an injury that left me out for six weeks then I had another injury but football there are no excuses, I want to play. I can manage this. My time will come."
