Stoke's Higginbotham eager to stay with Ipswich

Danny Higginbotham says he would like to remain on loan with Ipswich Town if it were possible.

The 33-year old defender is on loan with the Tractor Boys from Stoke City until the end of October but admits he would be open to a longer stay if the two clubs were to come to an agreement.

"We have to see how things go but if the opportunity was there to extend the loan then I'd definitely look at it," he told the club's official website.

"The most important thing for me is to play games and Ipswich have given me the chance to do that.

"Being left out of the 25 man squad by Stoke made the decision to go out on loan easier because I'm not really a player who wants to sit around and pick up my wages.

"I spoke to Jon Walters and Danny Collins, who have obviously both played here and they spoke highly of the club and I'm delighted to be here."
