Stoke City’s Abdoulaye Faye has had a suspension rescinded after the FA admitted they had mixed him up with teammate Amdy Faye.

Stoke City’s Abdoulaye Faye has had a suspension rescinded after the FA admitted they had mixed him up with teammate Amdy Faye.

It was originally understood that Abdoulaye had picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against West Ham which would have seen him miss this Saturday’s clash with Liverpool but the club sent in video footage that it was in fact Amdy who received a caution back in October.

That means it Abdoulaye has only four yellow cards and will be available for the Reds fixture.

A statement on the club’s official website read: “Following an enquiry and submission of video evidence made by the club, the booking has now been changed in The FA’s records, meaning Abdoulaye is free to feature this weekend.”
