Stoke City midfielder Maurice Edu has arrived at Philadelphia Union on loan.
The 27-year old USA international has returned to Major League Soccer on a one-year agreement after struggling for game time at the Britannia Stadium.
The capture of Edu, who has appeared just once for the Potters in the Premier League since joining from Rangers in October 2012, delighted Union head coach John Hackworth.
"As a US international with experience playing against some of the best competition in the world, Maurice adds a wealth of knowledge, skill and leadership to our club while still being in his prime," Hackworth told the club's official website of the former Toronto FC star who spent time with Turkish club Bursaspor last year.
"We think he will be an excellent addition to our squad and we are very excited to have him return to MLS and represent the Philadelphia Union."
