Stoke's Cameron: I've still got a lot to prove to US team

Geoff Cameron admits he still has a lot to prove when it comes to the USA national team.

The Stoke City defender has become an integral part of Jurgen Klinsmann's starting line recently, holding up a central defensive position, but still feels he has some developing to do before he is completely comfortable at international level.

"I want to become a regular on the team and that comes down to hard work and performing day in and day out for Jurgen and the guys, taking care of business with the club and also setting yourself up for the national team," he said.

"Obviously, when you're given those opportunities, you've got to run with it.

"I mean, I think there's still a lot I have to prove to him and to my teammates and whatnot. This is kind of a new experience for me as well."
