Stoke City's Geoff Cameron feels centre-back is his best position but is not averse to filling the void at right-back for his country.
Cameron put in a full shift on the right side of defence in Friday's 1-0 World Cup qualifying win over Costa Rica in Denver and could again feature in the same position against Mexico on Tuesday.
The Potters defender admits he would prefer to play centrally but says simply playing anywhere for the US in such a vital encounter with their arch rivals is enough for him.
"Obviously it's a position that I'm getting more familiar with playing at Stoke, but for me I just want to be on the pitch playing," Cameron said.
"I still think centre-back is my best position and I'm more comfortable. But if Juergen (Klinsmann) needs me there and the team needs me there, I'm more than happy to do it.
"I'll give it my best and that's what you can do every game. Just leave it all on the field. And hopefully the guys around me will be there to support me and cover me if anything happens."
