Stoke's Adam delighted with Scotland boss Strachan - 'We're in a good moment right now'

Charlie Adam believes the Scotland national team is in a very positive mindframe following the appointment of Gordon Strachan as manager.

The former Celtic boss oversaw a 1-0 friendly victory over Estonia on Wednesday for his first game in charge at international level and Stoke City midfielder Adam suggests that things are really looking up under new management.

"We're in a good moment right now because we have a lot of good players. It's just about getting the right balance in the team," he said.

"I wouldn't say too much is different at the moment because we've only had three days training with Gordon.

"Before, Craig (Levein) would come in and have a period of time where he would work with the players and we got into a way of playing.

"Now the new manager has come in and he wants to change a little bit.

"We've had a few meetings already and the way we want to go forward is looking good.

"The next time we get together we'll have 10 days and he'll have time on the training pitch to work with us.

"So to have only been together for a couple of days this time, I thought it was a good performance and we can take confidence from that."
