Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is expected to revive his interest for Hannover striker Mame Biram Diouf.
Hughes needs to find a new striker after a deal for USA international Juan Agudelo collapsed over a failed UK work permit application.
The Sentinel says Diouf remains on Stoke's radar after their overtures to the Hanover striker eventually went unrewarded during the summer.
The 25-year-old Senegal international remains unsettled in Germany and open to suggestions of a return to the Premier League following an unconvincing spell with Manchester United earlier in his career.
