Stoke reject Sunderland cash, player offer for Higginbotham

Stoke City have rejected a second bid from Sunderland for Danny Higginbotham.

Roy Keane tabled an offer of £2.4m plus midfielder Graham Kavanagh after an initial £2m bid was turned down.

Stoke chairman Peter Coates said: "Danny's a major player and we want to keep our best players."
