Stoke City have rejected a bid from Aston Villa for Glenn Whelan.
The Irish Independent says Stoke have knocked back a £500,000 bid from Aston Villa for veteran midfielder Whelan.
The Irish international has one year to run on his deal at the bet365 Stadium.
The 33-year-old played 31 times last season but Steve Bruce is thought to be a big fan.
