Stoke reach Staffordshire Senior Cup final

Stoke City have reached the Staffordshire Senior Cup final.

The Sentinel says Jack Devlin's brace launched Stoke into the Staffordshire Senior Cup final for the first time in five years as they bid to end an 18-year wait to lift the trophy.

Devlin's double and a goal from Danny Jarvis helped the Potters under-23s to a 3-0 semi-final win at Wolverhampton Casuals last night. Glyn Hodges's team will now take on either Hednesford or Chasetown in the final at Vale Park next month.

"This is probably the most physical game we've had in this competition, it wasn't a dirty game by any means but it was a good test for us," coach Hodges said in an interview for Stoke's official website.

"That's the sort of challenge we want, we're playing against men so we've got to jump, look after ourselves and learn how to handle not just the football but also the situation.

"The boys certainly did that last night and they have done it throughout the cup."
