Stoke City management are pleased with Abdoulaye Faye's success as stand-in skipper.
Potters assistant boss Dave Kemp said: "Abdy probably has the job more on stature than motivational skills. It is in respect of his performances and the person he is.
"I don't think we have what you would call an old-school type leader here.
"I worked with people such as Vinnie Jones, who was a captain and leader on and off the pitch. We don't have anybody like that right now."
