Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has hit back at claims he helped Wes Brown get sent off in victory over Sunderland.
Brown's dismissal shocked the Sunderland camp, which quickly pointed the finger at Scot Adam.
But he said: "I never, ever tried to get him sent off. At the time I didn't think it was a red card but sometimes that happens.
"He caught me, but when I spoke to the referee he said it was just the force after the tackle. That's why he got sent off."
