Stoke City No2 Dave Kemp has revealed they're improving their European scouting network.
Kemp will be in Eastern Europe to watch a player this weekend as City make the most of having no Premier League fixture because of the international break, says The Sentinel.
He said: "I think you have to. Look at the make up of teams in the Premier League, they have players from all over the world.
"The days of looking at just England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales are over.
"The world has changed in football. It used to be about Europe and South America, but now clubs are bringing in players from Africa and the Far East.
"When I was at Wimbledon we used to regularly look at players from Africa, now all the top clubs are doing that.
"The canvas we are using is worldwide."
