Stoke No2 Kemp: More to Arsenal victory than Delap

There's more to Stoke City than Rory Delap's throw-ins, says Potters assistant boss Dave Kemp.

"I think you saw a little bit about what Stoke City are about," said Kemp after yesterday's victory over Arsenal.

"We caused problems at one end and did our best to stop Arsenal and their exciting passing game at the other.

"We had to stop them passing through the middle of us and I felt we did that really well today.

"I think it (Delap's throw-in) has rattled a few people. It's a fantastic weapon, but I don't want that to mask the rest of our play.

"I suppose it will be highlighted because the two goals came from them, but I hope it doesn't because we have played well all round today."

Stoke have now bagged six points in successive home games to make it four wins out of six at the Britannia this season.

"Winning is a big thing in building confidence," Kemp continued, "and we've been in just about every game this season, but just not always crossed the line."

He poured praise on the home crowd as they again offered consistent and deafening support, while also delighting in Arsenal's discomfort as defeat was accompanied by Robin van Persie's 76th minute dismissal for barging into goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen.

"The fans are fantastic and right behind the team," he told The Sentinel. "The atmosphere was fantastic again today and the players loved it.

"We have got to keep playing to the standards we are playing at and hopefully pick up more points away from home."
