Stoke City management have told Marc Wilson to figure out where his best position is.

Now the arrival of £3million left-back Erik Pieters from PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona defender Marc Muniesa have freed Wilson to play his best position.

Potters No 2 Mark Bowen said: "Marc does not see himself as a left-back. He'd probably see himself more as defensive midfielder or a centre-half.

"He'll be looking at the situation thinking, 'Thanks, now I have a chance to show what I am made of where I want to play'."
