Stoke City striker Peter Crouch broke a Premier League record during last night's 2-2 draw with Brighton.
Crouch made a record 143rd Premier League appearance as a substitute when he came on for Stoke against Brighton on Monday night.
Crouch's 73rd-minute introduction took him past former Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi's tally, set between 2000 and 2015.
And Crouch has been effective in the role, averaging a goal every 162 minutes compared to every 271 minutes as a starter.
Meanwhile, before kickoff, Saido Berahino gave his public approval to the sacking of West Brom manager Tony Pulis.
Berahino fell out with Pulis before leaving for Stoke last January.
Yesterday, the striker “liked" the club's post officially announcing Pulis' departure.
The Welshman was sacked after a calamitous run of form that has seen the Baggies tumble down the Premier League table. They have won just two of their last 21 games and are now in 17th place, just a point above the relegation zone.
