Stoke City are again on course to land Portsmouth goalkeeper David James.
The Daily Mail says James is close to agreeing the loan move to Stoke City that will save his World Cup dream.
The England keeper is expected for talks at Stoke today after Portsmouth backed down from demanding they pay his wages until the end of his contract on June 30.
Last night the clubs seemed close to agreeing that Stoke will pay only until the loan ends on May 9.
