Xherdan Shaqiri was over the moon after completing his much anticipated transfer to Stoke City this week.

The 23-year-old Swiss winger joined the Potters for a club record £12million from Inter Milan on Tuesday and expressed his delight at the move via social media platform Twitter.

The former FC Basel star, who has played in the German Bundesliga with Bayern Munich and in Italy with Inter, felt he was now set to compete in the best competition in world football.

"Cant wait to play in the best league in the world!" he tweeted.
