Stoke new boy Cameron produces Man of the Match performance against Arsenal

Stoke City defender Geoff Cameron earned the Man of the Match award for his performance on debut for his new club.

The USA international, who recently joined from Houston Dynamo, was rock-solid in defence as the Potters held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday.

Cameron said it was vital for he and his teammates to quell the attacking threat of the Gunners and was delighted to have done his job for new manager Tony Pulis.

"It was good," Cameron told the FOX Soccer Channel. "It was a tough day out obviously playing against one of the top teams.

"It was just making sure that we were limiting their opportunities. They've got some quality players. If you shut them down early and frustrate them, I think they struggle throughout the game. It was, all around, a great effort."

Cameron and Stoke will now prepare for Swindon Town in the League Cup on Tuesday night before their Premier League trip to Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
