Stoke City are moving to beat rivals for Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips.
The Sunday Mirror says City boss Roberto Mancini has told Wright-Phillips he can leave.
Stoke are now hoping that the offer of Europa League football will make them a more attractive proposition than Sunderland, Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic.
Sunderland and Bolton have confirmed their interest in SWP.
