Stoke City look set to miss out on Croatia international striker Mario Mandzukic.

The Potters sent a bid to the 23-year olds agent but it looks likely he will land in Germany, perhaps with Werder Bremen.

"I do not know about that," said Mandzukic of Stoke's interest.

"My goal is to join a strong club where I will continue to progress."
