Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan is upbeat about his international future after talks with Republic of Ireland coach Roy Keane.
After replacing Stoke team-mate Marc Wilson after 76 minutes of last night's 0-0 friendly draw with Poland in Poznan, Whelan immediately looked ahead to the Republic's next game, against Serbia in March.
He said: "It's up to the lads to put themselves in the shop window with their clubs because we know the managerial staff are going to be looking for those of us in form.
"The manager has told us it's in our own hands now: to go back to our clubs and get back into the squad."
