Stoke City midfielder Liam Lawrence has signed permanently with Portsmouth.
Pompey had hoped to bring in the Republic of Ireland winger on such a deal over the summer but the move was not authorised.
He then joined on an emergency loan in September with a view to a long-term contract being agreed in the New Year.
Portsmouth have announced Lawrence has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal.
Lawrence was not able to feature in Saturday evening's Championship clash against Watford because he had not been registered in time.
The 29-year-old has been in fine form during his time on the South Coast, netting seven goals in 17 appearances.
