Rayo Vallecano are set to close a deal for Stoke City midfielder Giannelli Imbula today.

Imbula touched down in Madrid on Tuesday ahead of signing for Rayo on a season-long loan.

The midfielder has no future at Stoke and spent last season with Toulouse in France. Levante and Getafe had also been keen on signing the player this week.

Rayo hope to close a deal today, though Imbula's personal demands are complicating negotiations.

But there remains a confidence of a deal being settled given his presence in Madrid.
