Stoke City midfielder Salif Diao admits he had a major scare last week.

Diao has revealed how close he was to going blind after a blow to his face in the Carling Cup win over Tottenham.

Diao said: "A scan showed a triple fracture. They said I could have lost my sight if there had been any contact on the injury."
