Stoke midfielder Cameron: Allen on fire

Stoke City midfielder Geoff Cameron hailed two-goal Joe Allen after victory over Sunderland.

Potters manager Mark Hughes deployed the Welshman in the No10 role and fellow midfielder Cameron believes the new job suits Allen to a tee.

"At the moment the ball's just finding him and it's great," said Cameron. "He's on fire right now and for us it's great because you want to keep a guy like that in form.

"With Wilfried Bony, Marko Arnautovic and those guys being unlucky at the moment, the ball just seems to find Joe's feet and he's at the right place at the right time.

"We want him higher up the field, he's small, nifty, quick and he can play off Bony, Marko and Xherdan Shaqiri.

"He's clever with slicing those balls through for guys to make those runs in behind but he is also eager to get on the ball.

"I don't think anybody really expected these goals but they do call him the Welsh Pirlo!

"He just doesn't stop running, which is good. We have some legs in there now, he tracks back defensively as well when guys are running in behind him. He's got that attitude and you want to play alongside him."
