Stoke midfielder Adam says Scotland players are behind Levein

Charlie Adam insists that the Scotland players are right behind under-fire manager Craig Levein.

The 48-year old will soon learn his fate as the national team boss when a Scottish Football Association board get together to decide whether or not he has a future in the role.

A poor start to 2014 World Cup qualifying has placed Levein's job in question but Stoke City star Adam believes he is the right man for the job.

"Because we've had a couple of bad results - we know that - you know we played well against Serbia, if we'd got the second goal against Wales we probably would have been home and dry and we would have been third in the group," he told Sky Sports.

"The players, they cannot wait to meet up again. They are delighted with what he's got and what he does and we're looking forward to hopefully picking ourselves up and putting the disappointment of Wales and Belgium behind us.

"We can't reflect on that, we need to win against Luxembourg next month. We're going into February and we've got other qualifiers coming up so we're looking forward to that and hopefully we can get the right result."
