Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam was rushed to hospital yesterday after suffering a facial injury in training.

The Sentinel says the Scottish international has been taken for precautionary X-rays following the incident at Clayton Wood in the morning.

There is no news back from the hospital, but a club spokesman stressed the trip was more a precaution.
