Stoke City have offered the manager's job to Martin O'Neill.
Former Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores rejected the opportunity to take over as he announced his intention to stay with Espanyol earlier today.
And that has left Stoke chiefs desperately trying to persuade O'Neill and Roy Keane to quit the Republic of Ireland after four years in the international set-up, says The Telegraph.
The strugglers are currently thrashing out terms with 65-year-old O'Neill, who will bring Manchester United legend Keane as his No2, for what would be his first club job since Sunderland sacked him in 2013.
It still remains to be seen whether the ex-Celtic and Leicester chief will accept Stoke's offer after verbally agreeing to extend his deal with the Irish.
