Stoke City have failed with a bid for Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng.

The Telegraph says Stoke made a £7 million bid for Ki before switching their attentions to Liverpool's Joe Allen.

Mark Hughes made an approach for the South Korean at the start of the month, but the Potters' advances were rejected.

Swansea value Ki at more than Stoke's offer, which prompted them to look elsewhere.
