Stoke legend Macari: Hughes' men must be at their best against Brighton

Stoke City legend Lou Macari has said that the Potters need to be on top of their game for their upcoming Premier League game against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Writing in his column for the Stoke Sentinel, Macari wrote: "They lie eighth in the table, while the other two promoted clubs, Huddersfield and Newcastle, are currently 10th and 11th respectively.

"There's a long way to go for all three clubs, but that does suggest the Premier League isn't as strong as in recent years.

"What Stoke clearly need at Brighton next Monday is the kind of away performance they produced at Watford a fortnight ago."

The game against the newly promoted Seagulls is not one which the Potters can afford to take lightly considering that they have won four out of their first 11 matches of the season.
