Former Stoke City winger Terry Conroy is out of intensive care after he suffered a suspected aneurysm on the weekend.
The 64-year old has been transferred to the high dependency unit at North Staffordshire's University Hospital after his condition improved over the last two days.
Conroy, who won the 1971/72 League Cup with the Potters, has received the thoughts of the club with chairman Peter Coates sending their best wishes.
"We are all wishing Terry well," said Coates.
"Our thoughts are with his family and we just hope he gets better soon. We look forward to seeing him around the club again very soon."
