Stoke City legend Gordon Banks is confident Thomas Sorensen will bounce back after being axed from Denmark's Euros squad.

Sorensen is under contract at Stoke until the summer of June 2014.

Banks doesn't think the Dane's powers are on the wane.

He told The Sentinel: "I believe Stoke have two excellent goalkeepers.

"Thomas still has a few years left in him. Look at Edwin van der Sar, who was still playing for Manchester United at 40.

"As keepers get older they tend to feel more comfortable with their game.

"Hopefully he will get back into the national side."
