Stoke legend Banks concerned over England keeper stocks

Stoke City and England goalkeeper legend Gordon Banks has big concerns over Fabio Capello's World Cup options.

West Ham United No1 Robert Green has been England manager Capello's most-used keeper over the past year.

But Manchester United keeper Ben Foster and the injured David James, of Portsmouth, have also featured, while Birmingham City's Joe Hart and Blackburn Rovers shot-stopper Paul Robinson have been on the bench.

Banks, 72, is unsure who should take his old No1 shirt in South Africa and expects it to be determined on form over the second half of the domestic season.

The 1966 World Cup winner told The Sun: "I think it is one of the positions he is going to be thinking about on a regular basis. All of them seem to be in and out of form.

"If I was in the manager's boots I would make sure I got someone looking at all the ones I was thinking about week-in, week-out.

"You have to know what you are looking at because sometimes a keeper can play well when a team loses 3-0.

"But they have all been up and down and you can only make the decision at the end of the season, if you have got someone looking regularly and making sure they find the right one."
