Stoke keeper Sorensen: We all back Wilkinson

Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen says there was no finger pointing after Andy Wilkinson's dismissal during their defeat to Manchester United.

Sorensen said: "He already had a booking and, from my point of view, that second one looked like a yellow card too.

"He needed to just push him (Cristiano Ronaldo) that way and not go in for the tackle. He made a mistake there but these things happen.

"It is a team game. I don't think he needs to apologise. I thought he played really well.

"He will look at the second challenge and be disappointed, but overall I thought his contribution was fantastic."

Sorensen added: "We had a game plan and it worked well. We were in their faces from the off and put pressure on them. I thought they found that difficult.

"The result was disappointing but now we have got to pick ourselves up and get ready to face West Ham."
