Jack Butland wants to stay with Stoke City.

The 22-year-old stopper has turned his back on becoming a hired gun again and going out on loan.

"I do need games and it's a discussion I've had with the manager. He wants me to fight for my place, which is good for me long-term, so I will dig in and compete, that won't change. And when the opportunity comes, he knows I'm ready.

"Yes. I would like to play more games, but that will come. I don't think I'll be going out on loan this season, but there might be an opportunity to get some game time before the end of the season."
