Stoke keeper Butland frustrated after Burnley draw

Ashley Barnes struck again for Burnley as they drew 1-1 with Stoke City on Sunday.

Barnes' sixth goal in eight games underlined Burnley's European credentials as they earned a point to dent Stoke's hopes of preserving their Premier League status.

Paul Lambert's team, now four points adrift of safety and winless in 11 matches, had looked on course for victory when Senegalese midfielder Badou Ndiaye found the bottom corner with a deflected effort in the first period.

But Burnley responded after the break, with Barnes touching the ball beyond home goalkeeper Jack Butland with his thigh to level.

Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland said, "We need wins. It's a kick in the teeth. We tried everything and we're not getting the results we want or the luck of the draw. Time for talking is done, we have to keep fighting.

"We had a 1-0 lead and we have to defend that.

"It's emotional for everyone and a tough time of year. We're all trying to do our bit.

"For 24 hours sulk if you want, but then we have to go again and go to Anfield. I'm not going to sugar coat it, we have to go there and win."
