Jack Butland has revealed his ambition of becoming England's Number One goalkeeper for the 2016 European Championship in France.
Butland has enjoyed a fine season so far with Stoke City and put in a quite stunning performance in goal during the Potters 0-0 draw against Newcastle United last weekend.
Butland said: “My ambition is to be England's No.1 keeper, 100 per cent. I want to play at Euro 2016. I wouldn't ever create a bad atmosphere or anything like that. I want to go in there and test myself against Joe.
“I am sure he will likewise want to stop me getting past him. That is the way it works. We get on really well.
“We have a good relationship and training with him is awesome. He makes me better. But that is the motivation. I want to play for England even at the expense of Joe. I have had keepers in my way before."
