Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic says Ryan Shawcross deserves an England call.
Begovic, who will be playing in the World Cup with Bosnia, says that Shawcross, who has one England cap, should be a prime candidate to take the place of Chelsea skipper John Terry.
He told The Sentinel: "I've been beating the drum for Ryan for a while. I get to train with him and play with him every week and see what kind of quality player he is. I don't think he would ever let England down.
"It's important to have leaders and he's been our captain for a number of years. It's someone they need to look at and make a decision.
"I wish he was Bosnian, of course! He's a great player. But even saying that, we have got a few good players in our team and I'm sure he will get his international chance soon."
