Stoke keeper Begovic proud to take Bosnia captaincy

Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has been named captain of Bosnia.

Begovic is being lined up to stand in for the injured Edin Dzeko as skipper when Bosnia and Herzegovina take on Israel in a Euro 2016 qualifier on Sunday.

The 27-year-old said: "It will give me great motivation but the most important thing will be for us to get a good result.

"I want to play for my country, as captain or not, even though this is a great honour."
